Two Australians have been praised after giving a Balinese beach worker a well-earned break by giving her some of the pampering she regularly provides. While two holidaymakers saw weary worker Nyoman plying her trade offering massages to beachgoers and decided she could do it herself. “Some Aussie chicks give back to beach workers,” the Facebook video reads. “Nyoman was excited to receive a massage. When one of the Australian girls brought Nyoman an ice cream, Nyoman’s eyes lit up…The girls said it was the highlight of their vacation so far. “Congratulations to the girls. The simple things in life are often the best.’ The women smiled in the video as one massaged Nyoman’s feet while the other rubbed her back – and the beachside trader didn’t hesitate to instruct the young masseuses exactly what he wanted. “She was teasing me, she went ‘back,’” one of the women said, describing the moment Nyoman asked her to massage her back. “He’s talking like an Aussie now.” The video was met with warm messages from members of the public, including one woman who said: “It’s only the simple things that make someone’s day that are beautiful.” “It’s just great, well done girls,” commented another. “What a beautiful thing to do girls. Well done,” said a third person. A fourth said: “I couldn’t love this more.” While on holiday in Bali, two Australians treated tired beach worker Nyoman to an incredible act of kindness Small traders who depend on tourists in Bali have suffered greatly during the Covid lockdown that shut down the island’s main source of income, but visitors are returning in large numbers now that travel restrictions have been lifted. Australians make up a large part of the tourist trade as visitors from the south flock north to escape the winter, and with many having saved up during two years of travel bans, Bali expects an increase in visitors in the short term.
