Recent information indicates that the 3rd Army Corps is being moved to the front by rail. “Over the past few days, our volunteers have discovered photos and videos of the transportation of Russian military equipment by rail. The video shows the full warehouse of the Buk complex and the photo shows T-80BV and T-90M tanks,” the Conflict Intelligence Team (CIT ) reported on her Telegram channel. Railway intelligence and database reports say the trains loaded at Mulino and departed on August 22 and 24 were headed to Neklynivka railway station in Russia’s Rostov region, which is near the border with Ukraine’s Donetsk region to the east. “So far, it is impossible to say with certainty exactly where the Russian command plans to use the corps’ forces,” the CIT said. “However, the final point of the echelons (Neklinivka station), located in the south of the Rostov region, is closer to the Donetsk and Zaporizhia regions of the front.” What is the 3rd Army Corps in Russia? Russia has recruited men aged 18-50 this year to help fill a gap after setbacks in Ukraine and massive battlefield casualties. The new group of volunteers is not required to have prior military experience, nor any education beyond middle or high school. Russian casualties are reported to have exceeded 46,000 as the war enters its 27th week. The 3rd Army Corps is trained to fight along the front lines, providing much-needed relief to its countrymen. Russia began building up troops along Ukraine’s northern and western borders in late January and began attacking Ukraine on February 24, 2022. Since then, there have been heavy casualties on both sides. This includes Ukrainian citizens, foreign fighters, Ukrainian soldiers and more than 46,500 Russians. Russia did not manage to overcome Kyiv, Lviv and Odessa, but they occupied many areas in the eastern part of Ukraine. Russia has seized most of the Donbass Region, which includes Luhansk, Severodonetsk, Donetsk and Mariupol. They occupied the Crimean peninsula in 2014. Russia has also captured the major southern cities of Kherson and Melitopol, marching towards Odessa and the southwestern region of Transnistria near the border with Moldova. While some believe that Russia has lost its grip on the war and perhaps its aggression, a new set of soldiers on the front lines could potentially restore some morale as well.
