The crash happened at McKay Road and County Road 27.
In a series of tweets about the missing persons investigation, the Barrie Police Service (BPS) said officers located the scene of the fatal crash involving six people at 2 a.m. Sunday.

All of the victims are in their early 20s, Barrie Police Communications Coordinator Janet Mays told CTV News.
“The Barrie Police Service offers its sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of those involved,” BPS said in a tweet.
Police have not released the names of the victims, but one of them has been identified as local lacrosse coach and player Luke West.
Jim Lowe, West’s former coach, remembered the 22-year-old, whom he had known since he was seven, as an incredible person and “one hell of a lacrosse player.”
But what was most admirable about West, according to Lowe, was how he returned to the game he loved.
“He volunteered at lacrosse clinics to get new players into the game. When he finished his career, he went straight into coaching,” Lowe told CTV News Toronto on Sunday.
West was assistant coach of the Barrie Bombers U17-2 team this summer.
“This is a 22-year-old who gave up his summer to be in sweaty arenas teaching 15- and 16-year-old kids how to become better lacrosse players,” Lowe said.
“He just did it because he wanted to give back and became a role model for these young men,” he added.

That’s why, Lowe said, West’s death will leave a huge hole in the lacrosse community, especially the young players who looked up to him.
“I think there’s 17 guys on this team, actually — seventeen young men who lost a role model that I’m sure they’ll play with passion for as they go forward.”
For Lowe, one of his favorite moments in his 20-year career as a sports announcer was bringing in West’s first lacrosse goal.
West appeared in six provincial finals, winning two of them — one as a player and the other as a coach.
“The game helped him in his life and took him places and gave him memories,” Lowe said.
“Unfortunately, this story ended too soon.”
Lowe said the last time West was on a lacrosse floor, he received a silver medal as a coach.
“Nothing can ease the pain. But knowing, the last time he was on a lacrosse rink, he had a piece of metal put around his neck, not because of his physicality…but because of his leadership and understanding of the game,” he said.
“And to have done both to have a player and then to come that far as a manager in just 22 years, that’s something. This is a legacy.”
The Barrie Minor Lacrosse Association posted a tribute to West on its Facebook page, remembering him as a locker favorite for his toughness, tenacity and incredible lacrosse IQ.
“Westie – the impact you had on your teammates, coaches and the young people you coached is immeasurable. Few have worked harder in Bomber Blue, few can claim to have lifted us so high. We love you, miss you and are grateful for the time we spent with you,” the club wrote.
Barrie Mayor Jeff Lehman also offered his condolences in a tweet.
A shocking and horrific tragedy has occurred, taking the lives of six young people with their whole future ahead of them. As a parent myself this is my worst nightmare. The six families in our town who are devastated this morning need all our compassion and support, Barry.

“It’s just a terrible day. These young people were very well known in the community, very active in sports,” Lehman said in an interview with CP24.
“It’s just shocking news. I think it’s resonating around town right now.”
He is asking the community to show support, compassion and respect to the families affected by the accident.
“Let’s all keep these families at the forefront of our minds right now because they are facing the most dire situation imaginable,” Lehman said.
Barrie Fire Chief Cory Mainprize said it’s “such a sad day for our community.”
Later Sunday, Ontario Premier Doug Ford took to social media to express his condolences to the families of the victims.
“On behalf of all Ontarians, I want to extend my deepest condolences to the loved ones of these six young individuals,” the post said.
“We hold you all in our hearts during this time of unspeakable pain.”
