I’m retired and don’t have Netflix, but I’ll find a way to watch it. “It will be an interesting picture of John’s life and he led a very colorful one. “I want to know how they portray him.” Uden added that McAfee had spent most of his time in the United States and the two lost touch “many years ago.” “There aren’t many of his relatives alive today,” he said. “We know that the Spanish authorities ruled that his death was a suicide. “His mum and my dad were sister and brother so I’m his cousin and I have another brother who lives in Gloucestershire.” Uden previously told US Sun that she was “very sad” to hear of her cousin’s death, adding that “if he killed himself, we may never know why.”
STILL ALIVE?
McAfee was on the run for years until he was arrested in Spain in 2020 on behalf of the United States government for tax evasion and a fraudulent encryption scheme. In June 2021, after the Spanish National Court agreed to extradite him to Tennessee, McAfee committed suicide in prison at the age of 75. His body still remains in a Spanish morgue, according to Reuters. However, McAfee’s ex-girlfriend Samantha Herrera claims he may still be alive. In the new documentary, which premiered Thursday, Herrera claims he received a phone call from McAfee. “I don’t know if I should say this, but two weeks ago, after he died, I got a call from Texas,” she said. He heard the person on the phone say, “It’s me, John. I paid people to pretend I’m dead, but I’m not dead.” Herrera said McAfee told her “there are only three people in this world who know I’m still alive.” He then asked her to run with him, Herrera claimed.
“SAVE HER AT THE BORDER”
The documentary’s director, Charlie Russell, told Esquire: “I don’t know what I’m thinking and I don’t think he does. “He says it, then he looks at the camera and I can’t tell if he thinks it’s real or not. She is someone who was very angry with John. “He promised them a lifetime together and I think they were genuinely in love, despite the huge age difference. “I think he offered her a really different future, then he literally left her at the border and I think that’s very painful for her and it took her years to get over it.”

Dov Freedman, the co-founder of production company Curious Films, told Deadline that Running with the Devil is “10 years in the making.” Freedman is the executive producer on the film. He told the report that the film is “a weirder story like no other, about a powerful man who lived his real life as if it were a high-octane Hollywood movie.” US Sun has contacted Curious Films for comment.
