Nappy Roots rapper Fish Scales is recovering from a gunshot wound after he was kidnapped outside his own restaurant — and now police 911 audio and records reveal the terrifying scene he was lucky enough to escape. According to police documents obtained by TMZ Hip Hop, Scales was leaving the ATL Atlantatucky brewery with his girlfriend Britt Robinson to get food. Scales told police that’s when an armed robber surprised him, pointed a gun at him and demanded cash as he forced him back into the brewery. Robinson was still outside when he called 911 and said multiple suspects took his gun and house keys before fleeing to Scales, demanding he open the safe inside the Atlanta. Robinson says he saw the shooter talking on a phone during the robbery … possibly getting clues as to where the money was. When the robbers returned with Scales, they were adamant about going to get more money — the cashless brewery only had $20 to $30 — and they knew Scales’ address. After loading into the car, Scales said the robbers demanded entry into his home and the second suspect Tasered him in the back of the head. Play video content After pleading to no avail, Scales finally decided to get out of the vehicle … where the first suspect got out and started struggling with him, claiming, “I don’t want to hurt you.” During the physical struggle, Scales was struck by a gunshot to his left calf. The scale started running and he ran long enough to realize he wasn’t being followed. The Nappy Roots rapper then found the nearest house, knocked on the door and asked the owners to call the police. Scales also told officers he dealt with a disgruntled employee less than a year ago, but could not recall the person’s name. He also suspects that one of the robbers was trying to hide his voice. Police are still looking for the suspects.
