Matthew Lewis, who played Neville Longbottom in all eight Harry Potter films, called Air Canada “the worst airline in North America” in a tweet he posted Friday. Lewis says airline representatives kicked him out of first class Friday morning when he approached the gate at Orlando International Airport without warning or explanation and tore up his ticket
Confirmed. @AirCanada is the worst airline in North America. And that says something. — 🇺🇦Matthew Lewis🇺🇦 (@Mattdavelewis) August 26, 2022 “I literally tear up my ticket. No explanation other than “full flight,” the actor said. “They said if I wanted to sort it I would have to go to customer service. I asked where he was. “Toronto”. I’m in Orlando.” In a statement to CTV News Toronto, Lewis said he had not yet reached Pearson to speak with an Air Canada representative. “Air Canada’s customer service is outstanding,” he said. “And we as a society should not be okay with the normalization of overbooking profit and taking people off flights.” When reached for comment, Air Canada told CTV News Toronto that the matter was under review and could not yet provide further comment. The airline responded to Lewis’ tweet on Friday, saying they were sorry to hear about his experience and asked the actor to message them for further assistance. Lewis is scheduled to make an appearance at this year’s Fan Expo on August 27th and 28th.
