Toronto police and paramedics were called to the area of Bathurst Street and Ellerslie Avenue, south of Finch Avenue West, around 3:30 p.m. for a knife.
Police say they received reports that a man and a woman got into an argument and that the woman was later stabbed.
When officers arrived, they initially found two people without vital signs suffering from life-threatening injuries. Police say they later found a third victim with serious injuries.
There is no immediate update on their condition.
Police say one man was taken into custody.
“We don’t think anyone else is outstanding, so we don’t think there’s a danger to the public or this area anymore,” said Toronto police Const. said David Hopkinson.
The circumstances under which the incident occurred are unknown. Police have cordoned off the area for an investigation.
