Officers were called to arrest the woman on Saginaw Street downtown on July 29 after she allegedly assaulted someone at a bar. He faces charges on other charges, including assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, several news outlets reported. Bystander Amanda LaMielle, 47, captured video of the arrest on downtown Saginaw Street and shared it on Facebook. The video shows a woman in handcuffs as two police officers stand by her. “That’s where it starts,” LaMielle told The Daily Beast, recalling the incident that took place around 10:30 p.m. “When you see her legs go up… her body is just a noodle, and so her legs go back down. She falls down to the ground,” he added, as the video shows both cops trying to pick the woman up to put her in the patrol car. An unidentified woman was tasered twice while under arrest after the Flint Police Department said she refused to follow commands and get into the patrol car of two officers on the force the night of July 29 on Saginaw Street in Flint, Michigan. The two officers managed to get the unknown suspect into the patrol car on their second attempt. Bystander Amanda LaMielle, 47, recorded footage of the arrest and claimed the woman was once again in the patrol car LaMielle, 47, a Genesee County educator, claimed both officers approached the suspect, “hoping no one would notice,” while shocking her with a Taser. “But obviously, I did [notice],” LaMielle told The Daily Beast. Footage of the arrest shows the woman screaming in agony as she is frisked while sitting in the street, shortly after refusing to get into the Flint police patrol car and with her hands behind her back, already handcuffed. The two officers then try again and succeed on their second attempt to get the woman into their vehicle. LaMielle claims the suspect tried another time while eventually sitting in the patrol car, although the video doesn’t necessarily show that happened. Detective Sgt Tyrone Booth, a spokesman for the Flint Police Department, confirmed to The Daily Beast that the woman had been tested twice, although he did not reveal when exactly that happened during the arrest. The officers then closed the passenger door of the vehicle as they prepared to leave the scene of the arrest. LaMielle confronts them and asks for their IDs as well as their badge numbers, but both officers refuse to follow her request and then ignore her. Booth told The Daily Beast that “officers should be identified to the public” but that both officers on the night of the incident “were involved in a pretty difficult situation.” They were cleared of any wrongdoing after the department investigated the incident internally. Booth declined to reveal the identities of the two officers to The Daily Beast, telling the paper he did not want to “discuss.” After witnessing the incident, LaMielle asked both officers for identification and badges as they left the scene of the arrest. The two officers refused to give her any information DailyMail.com attempted to contact the Flint Police Department for further comment, but was unable to reach anyone on the force despite multiple attempts. “Once you’re told you’re under arrest, it’s not an offer or an invitation to cooperate,” said Det. Sgt. Tyrone Booth with the Flint Police Department told WNEM. “An obligation at that point is to submit to that arrest and do that by turning around and putting your hands behind your back and accepting the fact that you’re going to be handcuffed,” he added. Booth further said the officers did not violate their rights or use excessive force. However, he revealed that the woman had kicked a police officer three times in the face, although he did not reveal when exactly on the night of the arrest. “I think it’s enough for me to tell you why the charges exist,” he told The Daily Beast. The woman later went to jail. It’s unclear if he posted bond and if a trial date has been scheduled. The arrest remains under investigation.
